Country facts

Poland is a central European country of about 36.6 million people, bordering Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania with a Baltic coastline. Polish is the official language and Warsaw is the capital; Kraków, Wrocław and Poznań are major university cities.

Higher education system

Polish higher education is delivered by public and private institutions, split between university-type institutions offering academic degrees and vocational institutions offering practical programmes. Degrees follow the Bologna framework, and English-taught provision has expanded rapidly.
